Silvio rubbed his aching eyes. His console filled with yet another engineering log. Silvio did not understand what has caused the warp systems malfunction. Warp systems did not break down like that, at least not without help.

The next log that appeared on his console was a holodeck security log. Silvio was about to dismiss the log when he spotted a Warning message. Looking closer, he discovered that Ensign Dane had disabled the safety protocols on holodeck 8. Silvio let out a quiet whistle. The ability to override the safety protocols was normally restricted to only a few people. If everyone were allowed to turn off the safety features of the holodecks then there would soon be a shortage of crew members. Ensign Dane could have killed herself.

"Computer, what is the security access control list for the holodeck safety features," asked Silvio.

"All crew members have access to disable and enable holodeck safety features," came the reply.

Silvio whistled again, this time louder. This was definitely not a good thing. "Computer restrict the holodeck safety features access control to be the same as the auto destruct sequence initiation access control list," instructed Silvio.

"The ship's auto destruct initiate access control list is identical to the holodeck safety features," replied the computer.

Silvio's mouth dropped open, "Merda," he said. "Computer confirm, everyone on the ship has access to initiate auto destruct sequence."

"Affirmative, all crew members have the ability to initiate auto destruct sequence, however four of them must..."

"Yes yes I know," interrupted Silvio. Silvio shook his head uncertain how this could happen. "Computer, do the auto destruct security configurations match Maquis standard security protocols," asked Silvio although he already knew the answer.

"Negative, auto-destruct commands are reserved for the Senior Staff of the ship."

"Computer, who authorized the deviation from Maquis standard protocols?"

"That information is not available," replied the computer.

"Great." Silvio sighed, "Computer restrict all auto-destruct commands to the following people, Captain Ian Hunter, Commander John Wright, Lieutenant Junior Grade Sarik, and Lieutenant Junior Grade Giuseppe Silvio."

The computer acknowledged his command. Silvio then applied the same authorizations to the holodeck safety features and orderd the computer to do a level one diagnostic on the systems security systems. Silvio then began his report to the captain and XO about this situation. Silvio did not like this, not at all.
