| Childhood (birth to Adult):

Patia was born in Washington DC, Planet Earth, during her father's term as Ambassador. She was doted on by her older brother and very beloved by both her parents. Patia's empathetic side emerged earlier than many from Betazid. Her mother attributes this to Patia's early interest in the Holocaust of Earth's World War II. Patia spent countless hours at the Washington DC monument to the Holocaust as a young child.
Patia and Michelio were very close, even though Michelio spent most of Patia's formative years at Starfleet Academy and then serving in StarFleet. As a result of Michelio's influence, Patia decided her dream was to be a ship's counselour by the tender age of 7.
Her genetic bonding was determined by age 5. Due to an unfortunate accident back home on Betazid, her intended mate died when she was 9. Her parents chose to forego any further genetic bonding. Her father's secret hope is she is able to find true love on her own. Her mother says this hope is a direct result of serving too long as the ambassador to Earth.

| Early Education

Patia was homeschooled in the Betazid traditions and cultures until age 8. At that time, her parents opted for her to attend a Betazid founded boarding school in Washington DC. She attended through high school, graduating with high honors, and was awarded the honor of Salutorian. As an accelerated student, she took additional psychology courses at Georgetown University to explore her interest in counseling. She finished her bachelor degree at Georgetown two years after graduating from boarding school. She went on to attain her Masters degree in counseling before returning to Betazid. Patia spent three additional years in schooling at Betazid, focusing on using her exceptional telepathic skills for counseling purposes. Patia did find it challenging to separate herself emotionally from her patients, but found it to be the highlight of her educational career when she was able to develop a method whereby she can use her telepathic skills but still keep her inner most self emotionally detached from the sessions. |
| Starfleet Career
|
At age 27, Patia entered the Starfleet Academy. As an older student, Patia was able to focus her energies on her studies in a highly efficient manner. She was able to complete all course work in three years and graduated with high honors at age 30.
Patia has served as an assistant counselour on a smaller transport ship prior to her transfer to the USS Zion.

Patia has completed extensive research into the Holocaust of Earth's Second World War.
Her hobbies include corresponding with her parents and her brother and baking cookies from scratch. She has found nothing to be as satisfying as fresh baked peanut butter cookies, hot from the oven. The replicator just doesn't do the same job.

Patia is reserved and thoughtful. She reserves judgement until she feels she fully understands any given situation. Due to the early appearance of her telepathic abilities, Patia maintains a steady, and sometimes unhealthy, evaluation of her mental state to ensure she does not lose touch with reality, as often afflicts others with early onset telepathic abilities. |

Patia is allergic to Kiwi and is very careful to avoid it at all costs. As a result, she is very leery of any type of fruit salad and would prefer a vegetable salad any day.
Patia's strengths include dedication to her vision of her life path and an innate telepathic ability. Her weaknesses include a lingering resentment toward her father as she feels cheated because she does not currently have a genetic bond and fears she may never find someone to join with due to the possibility of interference by her telepathic abilities with common humanoid mating rituals. |
