==Bridge==

Hunter was watching the view port while engaging in a casual conversation with Commander Wright.

Suddenly their was a rumble which shook the deck plates, the lights flickered and the red alert klaxon began to sound.

Hunter stood up and stepped up behind Riaan, stationed at ops.

"Sir," she said, "there appears to have been an explosion on deck 6. I'm not sure what caused it but it appears it has knocked the power out on that deck.

Hunter looked back at Wright with surprised look. "Sir, the explosion came from quarters 13, the two that Teilani stated were part of the landing party from the Kittyhawk, Security was escorting them there this afternoon.

"Seal off the area," instructed Hunter as he tapped his combadge, "security to deck 6" turning back to Wright he said, "let's go Number One."

Wright move towards the captain. "Yes sir. Right behind you."

Hunter stepped up tho the tactical station where Westfall was. ´Scan the area for explosives and any unauthorized personnel. Westfall nodded, ´Aye-aye Sir. ´I'll tie in on an open comm link between you and security team. ´Very well Mr. Westfall, you have the bridge, keep me posted said Hunter joining Wright on the turbolift.´Aye Aye Captain, I have the Bridge.ˇ Hunter nodded, ´carry on." he said as the turbo lift door closed.

Westfall activated the cross-link from Command to the tactical station, to continue monitoring communications and sensor log analysis.

Ensign Bishop saw the Turbolift open and the Captain and Commander step off. "Captain....Commander," He nodded at them and continued towards the scene of the accident...leading his team behind them.

The team deactivated the containment field and proceeded. As they approached the area there was smoke and physical damage in the corridor Bishop had his men fan out and began searching the area,

"Did sensors say who was in the area, Sir?" Bishop asked, turning to the Captain. They'd not gotten the information....just told to move. "Two prisoners were assigned these quarters." said Wright.

Hunter looked at Bishop, "Do you know who was assigned to the prisoners?"

"Crewman Wilson, Sir. He was transferring them from Sickbay." Bishop nodded and went to confer with his men. A few minutes later, "Sirs....it appears that a phaser overloaded here."

Hunter tapped his combadge, "Computer, where is the location of Ensign Wilson?"

"Crewman Wilson is no longer on the Zion." chimed the reply.

"Well, lets go in." said Wright. "You lead the way Ensign.

Bishop nodded...sending his men in first. Hunter followed Wright in, he surveyed the room as Bishop took a scan. The fire suppressant device was obviously damaged as a fire continued to burn in the corner of the room. Other than the light from the small fire, it was dark, the crew used hand lights to explore the scene. There were greasy streaks of blood and identifiable dismembered body parts strewn among the rubble. Dorfer approached Bishop, he was gagging, he excused himself and left the area.

Hunter tapped his combadge, Westfall, have damage control report to deck 7 and deck 5 and inspect the adjacent areas until were done here."

Westfall replied, "Aye-aye."

"Sir....shouldn't medical be called?" Bishop asked.

"Yes, and get Melissa Jarvis down here as well." said Wright.

Westfall activated the shipwide page: Damage Control Parties to Decks five and Seven repled the computer.

Bishop tapped his combadge, "Bishop to Sickbay.....Please send a coroner team to my location." He closed the channel...then sent Ms. Jarvis a message asking that she also report to the scene. His men weren't finding much beyond the signature of an overloaded phaser.

Bishop had collected preliminary evidence and was discussing it with the captain. "...then you have everything you need Bishop?"

Yes Sir.....we've got everything we're going to find." He nodded.

"We should seal off this room Sir." said Wright to the captain as the crew from sickbay arrived and began the task of recovering the remains in theroom. Melissa Jarvis arrived shortly after that.

Hunter stepped out into the hallway. He turned back to Wright, "take charge of this matter, we'll be docking at Qul Tuq soon, I'll be on the bridge if you need me."

"Ensign Jarvis and Bishop. I want this room sealed off after sickbay is done."

"Aye sir."

"Sir," said Jarvis, "This was set up with maximum security in mind. There should have been surveillance on this room. I will go down to the security office and see if we captured what happened here."

"Very well, Let me know what you find," instructed Wright.

Melissa turned and left for the security office. She walked passed several cells full of Federation troops. One of them called out, "Hey what is a pretty thing like you doing with this Maquis scum."

"Shut-up dirtbag," she said as she walked passed them and into a small conference room. She pulled up the evening security logs and began searching for the deck 6 guest quarters.

"We are in luck," she thought as she found the logs she was looking for. Quickly she pulled them up and watched as the prisoners were beamed into the guest quarters. Her jaw dropped in disbelief at what happened next. She watched in horror as the two men begged for their lives before being murdered by Wilson. "Oh no," she said out loud as crewman wilson adjusted his phaser and sat down. She knew what was going to happen next but it still disgusted her as she watched wilson blow himself to bits. The log ended with the explosion.

Picking up A PADD she entered the video into her report. "Wilson said he had a brother on the kittlyhawk," she thought as she pulled up Wilson's service record. It made no mention of a brother serving the Maquis. She added the details of Wilson's service record to her report. She had enough for a preliminary report.

Jarvis to Captain Hunter. I have a preliminary report. Could I have a few moments with you and the Commander?"

Hunter tapped his combadge, "Please come to my ready room Ensign."

Jarvis came in and had a seat at Hunter's request. "Your report?" asked Hunter.

"Yes, Sir. I have reviewed the security video logs and have included them in my report for your review. Crewmen Wilson transported the victims to the guest quarters as planned." She paused. She did not want to tell the captain that one of his own crew had murdered these two prisoners. "He then killed each of them with his phaser. When that was done he overloaded his phaser which caused the explosion.

Hunter leaned back, rubbing his chin in deep thought. "Why would Wilson murder them?"

"Based on the statements he made during he crime his motive was revenge Sir." Melissa calmly looked at the captain.

What is his reason for revenge on these two prisoners," asked Wright.

"He claimed during the assault that his brother was killed in the kittyhawk attack."

"Why didn't we know about this Ensign?" inquired the Captain.

"I have also included Wilson's service record. There is no mention of him even having a brother let alone one on the kittyhawk." Melissa paused, "Other notes of interest from Mr. Wilson's record. He joined our crew when the ship was first commissioned. Interestingly enough, I can find no record of him ever having had a psychological evaluation. I searched all the way back into his academy records. He somehow managed to slip through the cracks."

Hunter drew a deep breath and sighed. "I know there is a war going on but this kind of thing can't be permitted to happen."

Melissa got up to leave. When she reached the door she turned and said, "Sir, might I make a suggestion?"

"Go ahead Ensign." said Hunter gesturing.

"We have been without a Chief Security officer since we began. We are doing the best we can under the circumstances, but I believe that we need to get someone in charge of the department. Perhaps if we had someone in charge we could have spotted this problem before tragedy happened."

Hunter nodded in acknowledgment of her statement. "I'll take your concern under advisement, dismissed."

As the door closed Hunter turned to Wright. "Murder." he shook his head in disbelief. "I don't have to tell you how disappointed I am over this situation." He stood up and looked out the window, "Notify the Judge Advocate General's office and see how they want to process this. I want do know how this happened."

He turned to Wright.

"Aye Sir."

"Anything else?" asked Hunter.

Wright looked as if he wanted to say something, but instead he just shook his head 'no.'

Hunter nodded, "Dismissed."
