Zoie entered her office, carrying a small carton of personal effects. On the wall behind her desk, she laid out her diplomas and certificate of commendation from her previous service. She laid out an old fashioned desk set. Her father had given it to her as a graduation present when she completed her coursework on Betazed. She did not have an actual use for it, but the family connection to it brought her comfort.
A picture was placed on her desktop. It appeared to be from the same sequence as the picture on her night stand. This time, the graduate was bending low, to the tiny girls level. Identical smiles were on their faces. Zoie smiled as she straightened this frame as well.
She backed away from her desk, turned, and began walking the perimeter of her office. She identified the chair she would use as her base for one on one consultations with her clients. Zoie completed the circuit of her office. She decided she would be most comfortable here.
Zoie stopped at the replicator. Raspberry Ice Tea, with two raspberries. She continued to her desk. Taking a drink, she leaned back in her chair to familiarize herself with her surroundings.
Computer, locate file on Ensign Riaan. The computer sounded and the file appeared. Zoie scrolled through Riaans history, adding notes to the PADD.
Zoie glanced at the chronometer. 1147. 13 minutes for Riann to appear before she would need to locate Riaan and verify a consultation time. Zoie turned back to the computer. She settled more comfortably in her chair. As she resumed perusing the file, a knock sounded at the door.
