Melissa had a very long day. She was tired, in need of a shower and missed Charles very much. Her shift was almost done when another security officer approached her. "Hi Melissa. I bet you are happy."

Melissa frowned, "I am sure tired and I miss Charles."

"Silly woman. He is back. I hear if from Ensign Davies. They rushed them up to sick bay. You didn't know?" said the security officer.

Melissa did not even respond she ran from the room and went right to sickbay stopping in the reception area she asked a nurse about Charles. "He has been released to his quarters." said the nurse.

Melissa was relieved that Charles was ok. She thanked the nurse and returned to her quarters. She was excited to finally be with Charles again. "Charles, " she called.

Hearing no response she called again, "Honey."

It was apparent to her that Charles was not there. "Computer, what is the location of Charles Atwood."

"Charles Atwood is in the quarters of Sam Carter."

"This is very odd," thought Melissa. Fear started to rise inside her as she made her way to deck 11. She stood out side Sam's quarters. She rank the door chime and waited. She had a very bad feeling about this. After a few minutes she rang it again. Still no one came to the door. She could not take this anymore.

"Computer, open door, security emergency override authorization Jarvis Beta22kappa", she said.

The door opened and Melissa enters Sam's quarters. It did not take her long to find them. Her beloved Charles naked in bed with another woman. The two of them were sleeping soundly. Melissa was filled with a mixture of anger and sadness. She stood there and looked at them trying to decide what to do next.

Melissa drew her phaser. Her trembling hands turned it up to the maximum setting. She pointed the phaser at Charles. Her hands continued to tremble as she considered what she was about to do. The part of her that was a trained security officer was shrieking in her head "STOP! YOU CANNOT DO THIS." The scorned lover, however, wanted nothing more than to kill them both. This part of her told her that nothing mattered anymore except revenge. "No, she thought, he is not worth it," she decided letting her phaser fall to her side.

Melissa quietly left Sam's quarters and sealed the door. Returning to her quarters she began removing all of Charles' belongings and roughly stacked them in the corridor taking no care to make sure they did not break. She then changed the room authorizations took a long hot shower with real water and then crawled into bed. Melissa cried the tears of love lost until she fell asleep. Then she cried no more.
