== Sickbay ==

Ensign Favor walked through the Sick Bay doors, and stopped cold. “Oh, great. SHE’S here,” she muttered, glancing across the room towards the woman sitting at the control panel, staring at a moniter. Long lists of numbers flew up the screen. A single strand of the Doctor’s red hair escaped the bun and trailed down her back.

Favor ran her hands over her own bald skull. “Hair. Just one of our many differences,” she thought to herself.

She began opening drawers and slamming things around with considerably more force than was necessary. “Good afternoon, Doctor,” she called out in a voice so loaded with sugary venom that it was toxic. “Don’t mind me! I’m just taking inventory of what we have here. Let me see here. We have a gross of thing-a-ma-jigs, and only one of these whatchamacallit’s left. I used most of those to fix Silvio’s crushed head.”

Teilani did not say anything, she just looked as Favor was on the rampage. It took all her strength to maintain her patients.

Favor remembered the gray sheen of Silvio’s brain, when it had peeked out from the jigsaw puzzle that had been his head, and the pride she’d felt at embroidering it back together. There hadn’t even been any scars. She’d done a good job, she knew.

A faint chemical odor drifted up. Ah, the sterilizer. Looked like the good Doctor had actually done some scut work, and loaded the tainted medical instruments into the sterilizer. “Thanks for starting the sterilizer,” she said acidly. “Hope you didn’t break a nail in the process. Hope it didn’t muss your hair.” She knew she was getting dangerously close to insubordination, but she didn’t give a damn.

Teilani still did not say anything, but she was quickly loosing it.

Favor looked around. Something was missing. What was it? Ah! Silvio! Where was he? “Doctor Dane,” she barked. “Where is my patient?”

= BR=Teilani rose from her seat, place both hands on her desk and leant forward a bit. “THIS IS QUITE ENOUGH, ENSIGN, she barked back. Teilani was furious; if her green eyes could shoot lighting Ensign Favor would have been incinerated at the spot.

Lt Silvio has been discharged from sickbay as you can see. If you had taken the liberty looking at this medical chart before coming barging in here you could have seen that he was fit enough to return to duty. You know very well that no one leaves sickbay unless they are not 100% better, Teilani continued with a hoarse voice.

True, you performed one hell of a job in keeping him alive, without your initial help he would not even have survived and I appreciate that, but as for being “YOUR” patient, there is no yours or mine in sickbay. We supposed to be working as a TEAM. As for making a decision to release some one, well that’s my responsibly and I do not have to justify my actions towards anybody but only to my commanding officer and myself.

Teilani took a deep breath, “Now Ensign, if you still have a problem with the way sickbay is run, I suggest that you lodge your complaint with the commander, and while you add it, you better ask for another assignment then cause I will have NO FURTHER USE for you.”

However, if you decide to stay here I will give you all necessary aid to improve your medical skills so that maybe one day you can have you’re own sickbay, but until then I expect that you perform your duties without any further problems. Because you know what, Teilani paused for a second, : I still have the feeling that you and I can make this the best damn sickbay in the whole universe, hell we can even learn from each other, HAVE I MADE MYSELF CLEAR!!!

So what will it be???? Ensign Favor was shellshocked. So. The Doctor wasn't quite the pushover she'd first thought. The Doctor stood with her hands curling and uncurling into hard little fists, and Ensign Favor wondered if the Doctor was ready to take a swing at her. "Bring it on, honey! Catfight in Sick Bay!" she shrieked, and laughed hysterically.

She laughed in loud screams while the Doctor stared at her. She laughed until she wept, and then she couldn't stop crying. She sank into a chair, put her face into her hands, and sobbed. The Doctor stood quietly, then grabbed a tissue and pressed it into the Ensign's hand.

"I'm so sorry," Ensign Favor said at last, hiccuping, taking ragged breaths. She blew her nose. "It's just that I've been by myself here. They had no doctor. I've been holding down the fort by myself, and I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing here. They brought in all those people from the Kittyhawk, and I was so overwhelmed. And then they brought Silvio in, and I thought he'd die, and it was no end of a surprise to me when he didn't."

She stood up and walked to the replicator. "Computer: Ice water." The cubes clinked in the glass, and she took a long sip. Her eyes were swollen and red.

Turning back towards the doctor, she lowered her eyes. "I won't be disrespectful again, Ma'am," she said quietly. "I'd like to stay here, if you'll allow that. And I'd like to see Silvio's chart, if it's all the same to you

Thats o'right, only one more thing ensign, Never underestimate me again, ok. as Favor nodded, both she and Teilani walked over to the console. Now said Teilani, let me show you what I have done after you initial care of Silvio.
