Happiness and bliss "

Frustration filled the air around Craig Witmore, as he tapped at one of many consoles in engineering. The ship wasn't exactly bring tossed around as badly as before, but the powerful inertial dampening field that this monster of a vessel could create should make it feel like they're floating free in a perfect and undisturbed void. Multiple hits has rocked the ship and various enginering teams were working around the clock to keep the ship afloat so to speak.

The tremors that sent the ship into it's sudden bucks like a bull in that insane Earth sport that was called "Rodeo" made Craig's head ache while he diligently worked on solving the problem. He was becomming more irritated by other officers lately, some asking him to get more involved in the social life of the ship, to get out of engineering and do something for himself. He would tell them he had things to do on his own, art to work on, previously made appointments to keep. In truth however, he'd been in engineering long after his shifts had ended.

And why shouldn't he? He justified this in his mind that his work was more important than anything else. The ship's tremors were inconveniencing everyone, why shouldn't he be working long hard hours to get it fixed? He was the best engineer on board of one of the largest and most advanced vessels in the Maqui.

It was his responsibility now, wasn't it? Still, this same job kept his head reeling as he tried to pinpoint the problem and solution, and while he worked he became more distant from the rest of the crew, he didn't even know what was going on outside the walls of the engine room.

People spoke with him less frequently, and when they did it was strictly buisness. Was this what he wanted? He thought this to himself for a few brief seconds before his mind was again on buisness mode. He told himself he wasn't happy, but this was the way it had to be, he was a Maqui officer, and he had a duty to perform.
