"Goodmorning Ma'am," Sam said. "I have here the new duty rosters as well as the rotation shedules.

"Thank you Sam," said Melissa. "We are heading into battle Sam, I would like you to run alpha shift through the holodeck drills. I want them to be ready in the event we get boarded."

"Yes Ma'am. You have any particular holodeck drill in mind?" Sam asked

"Use your best judgement," said Melissa, "I just want to have everyone on their toes and ready."

"I thought that the use of the holodecks was restricted to conserve power?"

Melissa shook her head, "No, not to concerve power, they are restricted from recreational use. We need to make sure everyone has their head in the battle and not some holodeck fantasy."

"I understand. I will get to work immediately." Sam responded.

Melissa nodded and as Sam was turning to leave she thought about the recording of Charles interviewing Mason. "Sam," she said, "In the time that you and Charles were together, did he ever show signs of being...well, sadistic or inappropriate?"

Sam turned back towards Melissa. "Why do you ask?"

"I recently viewed some computer logs of one of his interrogations. His tactics were a bit over the top, even for an intell officer."

"He raised his hand only one time but thats it and the rest of the time he bossed me around saying that he was my superior.

Melissa knew that feeling well, "I know what you mean there, but this was more than being arrogant, it almost looked like he was enjoying the pain he was causing."

"I saw.........Sam paused. "I saw some sadistic tendencies when we were on Pentara V but did not think anything about it. We were in a bit of a tight spot at the time."

Melissa arched an eyebrow, "What did he do?"

Sam shrugged. She felt a little bit uncomfortable talking about someone who was not there to defend himself. "It's all in the report Chief," she said.

"I'm asking about his behavior while on the mission, not the mission results," said Melissa.

" He was pretty hard on our contacts there and he seemed to smile when our contact had killed a Cardassian."

Melissa shook her head, "Arrogant, bossy and pushy," she said absently, "I wonder what ever made me give up my own identity to agree to marry him." Realizing that she had just spoken her private thoughts in front of San she quickly shuffled the PADDs on her desk. "Thank you Sam," she said quietly trying to cover her own embarrassment.

"Don't be embarressed. I understand Ms Jarvis" Sam said softly.

Melissa smiled, "I guess there is not point in trying to change the past."

Sam nodded and tugged her uniform. " If you no longer need me Ma'am, I would like to get on with my work."

"Dismissed," said Melissa.
