Throwing the notes of the meeting on her bed she went to her drawer and picked up the padd. Her curiosity got the better of her and she wondered what was on there. Clutching it tightly in her hands she left her quarters and headed to Main engineering.
**Main engineering**
When she entered Engineering she was still captivated by the warpdrive, blue shimmer in the background, engineers busy with engineering tools, keeping the energy flow to peak efficiency. It was somewhat similar to sickbay only here the warpdrive was a patient who needed constant care.
" Hello pretty lady," she heard behind her. She turned around and stared in the friendly face of Craig Witmore. " Hello ensign Witmore," she said smiling. " I am looking for the chief.?"
"He just came in and.........Craig looked around, " he is over there." Craig pointed towards Silvio and a young ensign. Teilani nodded and she walked over to them, as she approached she heard Silvio giving orders to the young ensign. "Ensign Gordon, please take the flow regulators up to Hanson and give him a hand, he is working on the power flow to the port nacelle."
"Aye sir," said Gordon.
"And Jeff," said Silvio stopping the young man, "be careful."
"Yes sir."
Turning Silvio saw the doctor, "Hello Doc, what brings you here?"
"I require some technical asstance Chief," Teilani said with a smile and handed him the padd.
Silvio took the PADD and looked it over, "Hmm, Klingon. Come with me," he said as walked towards his office. Once inside he put the PADD on his desk and gave it the once over with a tricorder, "It's power cell has been discharged," said Silvio.
Flipping the PADD on its side he rummaged thought his tool kit of the right tool. He removed the back of the PADD and looked at the mess that used to be a power cell. "Looks like someone intentionally damaged it," he said.
Teilani looked at him. Now she understood what made him such a good engineer. He handled his tools the same way as she handled hers in sickbay. In a way they both were doctors.
Silvio opened his desk drawer, inside were power sources of various kinds and for many different devices. Silvio never threw away a good power cell, you never knew when you might need one again. Finding a power source that would work, he placed it in the PADD and secured the cover. Silvio looked at the PADD as it came to life. "Here you go Doc," he said, handing it back to her.
Teilani's hart pounded in her throat as she took back the PADD. She quickly browsed through it and frowned. "Darned it was all in Klingon."
"So it will keep working now right," she asked Silvio. " And without problems I can hook it up to my console right?"
"It should last for quite a while, he replied, "If I were you though, I would upload it to our computer right away." Silvio got up and went to one of the shelves in his office. He pulled down a small case and handed it to the doctor, "You can connect it to our system with this converter, there are instructions for you to follow in the case. It is not hard to do." Silvio smiled, "Just be sure to bring the converter back to me when you are done. I would hate to lose it."
"Thanks Mr Silvio." Teilani took the converter. " Dont worry I will take good care of it and bring it back to you a.s.a.p." She then turned and left.
As Silvio watched the doctor leave Engineering he noticed Witmore was also watching her go.
"Witmore," he said, "When you are done there, I need you to go up and do maintenance on the forward phaser array."
Craig had difficulty tearing his eyes back from Teilani's rear end. Compliments to those who had designed the Starfleet uniforms.
" Sure chief," he responded as he turned his attention to Silvio. " You know the Doc is quit pretty, especially with the short hair. You think she would go out with a tinker like my self?"
"Anything is possible Witmore," said Silvio with a slight smile.
" I don't know, she is pretty smart." Craig said abit sadly. " You know Chief, you and the Counselor lady seem to hit it off nicely. You care to share your secrets with me?"
Craig looked at Silvio with a sort of puppy dog eyes.
SIlvio almost laughed, "Ask me no questions Ensign," said Silvio, "and I will tell you no lies. Now, get back to work."
“Aye Chief,” Craig replied with a chuckle. “Phaser array, here I come.”
