Moving on her scanned it's distortion matrix. The cloak worked by creating an area of distortion around the ship that makes the Zion invisible to the naked eye, and most sensors. Silvio decided that the phase coils would need to be replaced as well.
Closing his tricorder Silvio got up and made his way to the industrial replicator. He replicated the parts he would require and carried them back to the cloaking device.
Silvio tapped his comm badge, "Silvio to bridge, the cloaking device will be offline for two hours for routine maintenance."
Silvio touched the console and took the device offline and deactivated its power taps; Silvio had no desire to accidentally cook himself while working on it. Silvo again moved back to the cloaking device and scanned the power systems one more time. Taking a sonic wrench from his kit and began removing the old power supply.
Once the old power unit was removed he carefully checked each of it's connections, replacing any faulty or worn connection points. Once he was satisfied with the condition of the power connectors he began installing the new power unit. He carefully mounted the device and then connected it to the rest of the device. Finally, he connected it to the main EPS trunk. Silvio then took out his tricroder and verified his work.
Turning his attention to the phase coils, Silvio removed the phase transition housing and carefully removed each coil and set them on the ground. Silvo then slid each new coil into place and reassembled the phase transition housing.
Standing up Silvio examined each of the spent coils for any visual sign of damage. Sure enough the fourth coil was warped and charred. Silvio sighed, this meant that the cloak was out of alignment.
Silvio activated the cloaking device's power grid and brought it to standby mode. Silvio walked over to the nearest computer console and switched the device to testing mode. He spent the next hour running the device through simulated tests at varying degrees of intensity. When he was done he was confident that it was once again in full alignment.
Silvio tapped his comm. badge again, "Silvio to bridge, the cloaking device is now available again."
