Bye Chuck "

After leaving the bridge Atwood went to his quarters. He began packing his things. Fortunately, he made it a rule to live lightly so that he could be free to move wherever fleet command wanted him. Atwood informed flight operations of his departure and asked them to have a runabout prepped for him.

He packed everything into a small case and slung it over his shoulder. He was not sure if he should try to say goodbye to Sam. He did not understand her change of heart, but it was probably for the better; she just did not do what she was told so he did not think marrying her would have worked out. He decided to just send her a message saying good bye.

When he was done, he checked the computer and found his transfer orders. After downloading them to a PADD he made his way to the main shuttle bay.

"Good morning Lieutenant," said the flight controller, "Your scheduled for the runabout Euphrates."

Atwood nodded, he noticed that the Ensign did not even attempt to salute him. He did not like the lack of respect that was allowed on this ship; a fact that he intended to report to fleet command. In truth, he was glad to be leaving. "I will be leaving now," he said.

"Yes sir," said the ensign, "It is all ready for you."

Atwood left the flight office and walked into the shuttle bay itself. He found the Euphrates ready to go. He entered the runabout and began running pre-flight checks.

When all was ready he requested clearance to take off and left the Zion; he hoped for good.
