Message to Uncle Brexen "

Patia stared at the picture of her brother on his graduation day. She could vividly recall the day. The sun had beaten down on her formal attire, warming her completely. Her brother's husky voice, still finishing its transition from boy to man, was so familiar and safe. The rush in her stomach as he scooped her skyward could still tickle her senses when she thought about it. She could not imagine a world where she could not reach out to him if she felt she needed him. Slightly, she shook her head. She could certainly understand why Teilani felt so lonely.

"Computer, please verify assignment for Brexen Refelian. Last known duty assignment was the USS Tiberius."

Momentarily, the computer's lilting voice responded. "Brexen Refelian is still assigned to the USS Tiberius."

"Computer, begin dictation.

Dear Brexen Refelian,

My name is Lieutenant Junior Grade Patia Zoei. I am currently serving as the ship's Chief Counselor for the USS Zion. Dr. Teilani Dane is serving on board this ship as well. Dr. Dane is doing well, however, I am trying to reach her family. I understand you may be able to assist me in this process. I would appreciate your assistance at your convenience.

Patia quickly scanned the memo. Everything was in order.

"Computer, send message to Brexen Refelian, USS Tiberius."

Patia picked up the picture. She rubbed her fingers along the intricate frame. Now, it was just a matter of waiting to see if Uncle Brexen would even respond to her missive. For Teilani's sake, she hoped he did, and soon.
