Wright had managed to get some sleep but was still feeling a bit cranky. He really wanted to get back into his own quarters. Wright looked down at the stump where is had used to be. He knew that it could be re-grown but there was something unsettling about not having the one he was born with.

Wright looked around sickbay. There were several people there. A few had died during then night. Silvio was resting comfortably. Wright wondered what had happened to him. Wright was pulled from his thoughts when Dr.Dane entered Sickbay

Teilani had managed to get some sleep in her office, but she would give all her worldly possessions if she could go back to her quarters and sleep for 12 hours.

Luckily the replicators were all fixed and she enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee. Looking around she noticed that commander Wright was awake.

Goodmorning commander, I see your awake, how do you feel?”, she asked as she put the mug on a table and changed it for a medical tricorder.

"Good morning Doctor. All things considered I feel lucky to be here." Wright lifted up his damaged arm.

Scanning the stump, Teilani asked. "Have you any pain in it?"

"To be honest," Wright paused. "It hurts like hell."

"That’s because you were to stubborn to except any painkillers commander,” Teilani said with a light chuckle. “It also shows that the nerves are still receiving signals from your brain, but.... I could make the pain go away if you would let me.”

Wright had refused pain medication during the crisis because he was in command and wanted to maintain control of his senses but now that the Captain was back perhaps he could take something now. He smiled at the doctor. "They always say that doctors make the worst patients. Now that the captain is back in control, perhaps a little pain medication would be ok."

Teilani walked over to a tray and started to prepare a hypospray with inaprovaline, a mild painkiller and antibiotics. "There this will make the pain go away and prevent infection,” Commander, she said pressing the hypo against his neck.

"Have you already thought off what you want Commander,” Teilani said softly.

"What are your recommendations Doctor," Wright asked. He himself wanted to have a real hand back. He did not want have artificial appendage.

“We could try clone the missing part and make preparations to get it re-attached once we are back at QulTuq.”

"That is a long time away Doctor," said Wright. It was still month until they reached Rura Penthe and a month back. "Do you think we can keep my stump in good enough shape for the re-attachment waiting that long?"

"I am confident that we will be able to do so. However, you need to check in regularly so that I can check it. It will take about 6 weeks before the cloned limp is finished and then we need to prepare your arm for the receipt of it. The slower the clone grows the better it will be.” she replied.

Wright looked at his missing hand. He truly hoped that he and mister Birkoff would meet again. Having been a doctor Wright was not prone to feelings of revenge so the experience was a little unsettling. Sure he wanted to stop the Federation and he hated what they had done to the universe, but that was much different that wanting revenge on a single man. Surpressing his anger he looked up and the doctor. "Very well doctor, let's begin."

"I need some DNA and blood from you Commander,” Teilani said.

Wright nodded and watched as the Doctor took the samples that she needed.

Having collected the DNA and blood sample Teilani made sure that they were put into a secure container so that nothing would happen to it.

"Now, how long before I can get back to work," Wright asked.

Teilani studied Wright's face. Various emotions could be read from it."You can go back to work now Commander," she said. "However, promise me one thing, that you see the counselor about it."

Wright did not care much for counselors. They had not help him much when he lost his wife and he did not figure that they would help him now. He looked at the Doctor. He could see that she was going to push the issue. Rather than arguing with her he just nodded and got to his feet.

I will keep you to your promise commander," Teilani said with a chuckle. "If you don't I will sent a report to Captain Hunter and have you declare unfit for duty pending this mission."

Wright looked carefully at the doctor. "Be very careful Doctor. You have to have solid proof that I am functioning in a manner that would endanger this ship or her crew to do that. I wouldn't want you to get court martialed for abusing your power as Chief Medical Officer.” "Have a good day Doctor," said Wright as he left sickbay.

Teilani frowned as she listened to his comments and watched him leave before returning her attention to the jar holding the DNA. She wondered why he acted so harsly she was only teasing him. Former doctors were even more lousy patients
