“Lani, lani, where are you.” A tiny voice called. “I am going to find you.” In a big backyard a little boy was searching. “Come on Lani, this is not fun anymore.”

Eric was tired he had been searching for his big sister for a long time. The backyard was big and filled with different fruit trees and she could be anywhere. He love to play hide and seek with her but it more then often happened that he was getting annoyed because he could not find her.

He angrily kicked at an apple and watched it roll in to a small ditch. “Now Shorty is that a way to treat an apple,” he heard a voice say behind him.

“Lani,” Eric shouted as he rushed in to Teilani’s arms. “Hey little brother, she said, ruffing up his hair. “It is time for dinner.”

Just at that time Teilani woke up. Rubbing her eyes she shook her head, this was the first time she had ever dreamed of home, especially dreaming about her younger brother. It had to be because they were nearing Rura Penthe. It was a small lead she had but it was all better then nothing.

Slowly getting up she walked towards a little sink in the showering area. Splashing some water in her face, Teilani looked at her self in the mirror. A pale face surrounded with red hear and green eyes looked back at her.

Putting her hand against the mirror, covering the face which stared back at her, Teilani walked back to the main sitting room. She looked at the chronometer it was 2355, perhaps Captain Hunter was still awake and she could ask him to……

“Nah, bad idea, Teilani mumbled to herself. “It would be unwise to put the needs of one person before the needs of others.”

Straightening her uniform, Teilani left her quarters and went to deck 8. Sickbay had become her home from home. As she entered the main sickbay, the soft humming of the medical equipment reached her ears. She noticed that there was only one patient left. Gently walking up to him she noted that the readings were more or less the same, adjusting some settings on the diagnostic console, Teilani looked at Masons face.

For some reason she felt connected to this man. Brushing the hair from his forehead, Teilani started whispering

“Mason, can you hear me, I have good news. Patia and I have seen the Captain and he agreed that you stay on board the Zion.

“Can you hear me, you are not going to the penal colony, you have been given asylum. Mason, you are going to be alright.

Teilani sighed there was no reaction what so ever, she did not even know if he even heard her. But at least she tried.

“If you need me Mason she whispered. “I will be right here, I will not leave you alone.”

With a last glance on her patient Teilani went to her office and walked up to the replicator.

“Coffee, Jamaican blend, double strong double sweet. Collecting the mug, she went to her desk and sat down, looking through padds which needed to be signed off. Quietly she worked her way through the padds and requests until she reached a point when she could not keep her eyes open. For only a moment Teilani laid her head on the desk, closing her eyes and began to dream again.

“Lani, Lani where are you? I need you Lani, where are you I can not find you.”
