After supper Teilani wondered aimlessly around on the Zion. She did not feel there was any use in going back to her quarters. Perhaps the holodeck had some nice programs, it certainly had been a while since she last used her holodeck time.

She took the turbolift to deck... and slowly walked towards holodeck 1. As she approached the console she noticed that a program called the "Ruins of Visnu" was running. Teilani wondered who was in there.

When the doors opened, Telani stepped out onto a wind swept plateau. The sun was low on the horizon and forced her to squint in order to see. At the moment, a gentle breeze was blowing, which caused her hair to swirl around her head just a bit. As she scanned the scene, she saw that the plateau over looked a canyon of sorts. On the far wall of the canyon, she spied a series of ancient looking buildings carved into the sheer rock face. Farther down, she spied the holodeck's only other occupant. It was obviously female, but it was hard to tell who it was exactly due to the glare of the setting sun. Whomever it was, she was staring off the plateau....watching the sunset. Though her body language indicated that she was anything but happy as her dark hair blew around in the breeze.

As the Doctor walked closer, the figure came into a bit more focus and it became apparent that it was Alyssa Northrop sitting there. So as not to startle her, Telani made a small coughing sound. Alyssa whipped her head around.....then settled down when she saw who it was.

"Hello"

"Hello Doctor," she responded....her tone showing none of its usual cheer.

"Mind if I join you?

"Pull up some rock." Alyssa smirked a bit, "I'm afraid the ground isn't all that comfortable...but I suppose I've gotten used to it over the years."

Teilani smiled. Its o.k. What's the matter? Your not your cheerful self"

She stayed silent for a bit, then hung her head for a moment. "Well...it's nothing really. I mean....I guess it's just an after effect of getting roughed up."

Northrop shrugged, "Just not really feeling myself. Guess I'm thinking that maybe joining the fleet wasn't the best idea. I mean.....less than a week aboard and I've already been nearly killed. Maybe I don't belong here. I'm not really a soldier."

Teilani brushed away her hair and tucked it behind her ear. "I am not a soldier either and I see what you mean. You had hardly anytime to get accustomed to life on board. Don't doubt your own abilities Dr. Northrop. Everyting that happens to us, happens for a reason. Don't get me wrong it does not mean that you have to like it."

The brunnette snorted at that last bit, "I know that I don't have to like it. But I also know when to cut my losses."

She gave her medical collegue a slight smile, "Don't you worry....I won't be going anywhere though. I'm stuck. I made a commitment....and like so many others I don't skip out on my obligations. So....I'll just tought it out. Who knows...maybe I'll have a little fun along the way."

"What happend when you got roughed up?"

"Well...as you can imagine, it was quite unpleasant. It was mostly elbows and punches. I know they kicked me once or twise when I fell. To be honest....I don't remember parts of it. Maybe I'm blocking it out.....and maybe I was simply unconcious. I can't say." Alyssa shrugged and hugged her knees tighter, "Anyway....I'm in one piece again thanks to you, Doctor."

"I just did my job, Dr. Northrop," Teilani answered softly. She moved a little closer to Alyssa and gently put an arm over her shoulders. At least she could try to comfort her, letting her know she was not alone in it.

"I know that now you feel lousy but in the end it will only make you stronger. But don't pretend that you are tough and that you can do everything on your own, you are not alone and we are all here to help each other."

Alyssa actually laughed, "You think I'm going to cry or something? Hardly. This isn't the first hard situation I've found myself in. And it's certainly not the first time I've been hurt. I made my choice...and I'll deal with it. That's just the way things work."

She brushed off Tenlani's arm and stood up. "Anyway....Thank you for putting me back together Doctor. And since you've come all the way down here...I guess you wanted to use the Holodeck. I've been in here long enough."

With that...Northrop began moving towards the door.

Teilani stood up, that was it. Just for being nice to someone didn't mean that she had to be treated like dirt."HOLD IT RIGHT THERE WCO NORTHROP," Teilani said firmly. Just because someone is interested in how a person feels does not mean that you have to behave like a first class bitch."

"I pretty well realize that we on the Zion are not what you expected and that you are more interested in stickin' your head in the sand and solving all problems yourself even if it means getting you killed, but that is not the way it works over here! If a helping hand is given to you, learn to accept it instead of brushing it aside like a piece of dirt. Trust me it will make your life a whole lot nicer!"

"Obviously you are not cut out to be a member of this crew and that reminds me I still need to update your medical records and I will surely mention your current state of mind!"

"Computer arch", Teilani ordered. She was pretty pissed off. That is what you got for being nice.

"And as for the holodeck Doctor Northrop, I was just interested in the program you were running. Good day!"

Alyssa merely stood there a moment....the wind whipping at her hair. That was certainly not the reaction she'd been expecting. First Class Bitch?

She growled low, her teeth and hands clenched......then kicked the nearest thing she could find....which happened to be a rock. It went flying off the side of the plateau. Less than a second later she heard it thud to the floor. 'HOW DARE SHE TALK LIKE THAT TO ME! TAKE MY WORDS ALL OUT OF CONTEXT!!!'

For the second time in as many days, Doctor Alyssa Northrop felt like destroying something. Only differene this time.....she wasn't going to supress the feeling. Grumbling and mumbling to herself.....she stormed out of the holodeck and went straight to the ship's gym to take out her frustrations on the nearest punching bag.
