Cake and Coffee "

Stardate: 58204.18 1800

==USS Zion - Engineering, Miranda's and Sickbay== Silvio sat in his office reviewing his messages. He was amused to see the message from the Doctor. She needed her coffee. Silvio smiled, grabbed his tool kit and headed for sick bay. As he entered the turbolift he decided the make a quick detour to Miranda's.

As he entered Miranda's she greeted him with a smile. "Hello Silvio. What can I do for you?"

"You wouldn't know the Doctor's preference in coffee would you," asked Silvio.

"It is my job to know these things Silvio. Currently she has been drinking Jamaican blend double strong double sweet."

Silvio shuddered. That did not sound good to him. "Great, I will take one of those to go. The largest size you have too please."

Miranda got his order for him and he headed to sickbay. When he arrived the Doctor was not there. He placed the coffee on her desk and began a diagnostic on the food replicator. While that was running he took out his tricorder and began scanning biobed 4.

Removing the access panel he began probing the connections of the bed looking for the problem. He was not able to find any reason that this bed was not working so he decided to do standard maintenance on it. Carefully he checked the unit's power connections and refitted a few isolinnear chips.

After having taking a shower and putted on a clean uniform Teilani headed back to sickbay, she could not leave ensign Forrester alone for too long.

To her surprise she noticed Silvio walking around biobed 4. Teilani smiled as she softly walked up to him. "Well, well, well, if it isn't my favorite

chief of engineering", she said with a big smile.

"Catching up on some backlogs Chief? Did you have any idea how long I had to

go without my coffee?, Teilani said amused.

"What," asked Silvio. "I just got your message this morning. I came right away." He gave her his best "service with a smile" look and glanced at her office. "I have brought you some coffee. It is on your desk."

"You did?" Teilani said surprised, while walking back to her office.

As the doctor went into her office Silvio replaced the access cover on bio bed 4 and then laid down on it. The bed sprang to life as his vital signs began showing on the bed's monitors. Satisfied that it was working correctly Silvio jumped off the bed and smiled. "Another patient saved."

Teilani came back in to the main room, holding the cup of coffee in her hands, closing her eyes as she inhaled the fragrance."Chief, she said, I could just kiss you for this. How did you know that I liked this so much?"

"I asked Miranda. She is one smart woman." Silvio smiled. "I bet she knows what everyone normally drinks."

So everything is now fixed, she asked while sipping her hot coffee. "How about the climate control, chief?. Any idea what caused the malfunctions?

Silvio looked at the results from the replicator diagnostic. They were completely normal. So far Silvio had not found anything wrong. Putting the replicator back online he ordered, "Cake double chocolate with ice cream." The replicator created it just as he ordered it. "Looks to be working." He handed the cake to the doctor.

Silvio again took out his tricorder and took the room temperature reading. "I will take a closer look at the environmental controls from main engineering." He paused. "There have been a ton of malfunctions lately. Seems like every is having problems. When we go to look we cannot find anything wrong." Silvio shrugged. "Very strange."

Teilani nodded she knew what he meant. By the way Silvio, how are YOU doing?, she asked with interest.

Silvio placed his tools back in the kit and snapped it shut. "I am doing just fine. Eager to get away from Qul Tuq though. We have spent too much time here."

"I could not agree more Mr. Silvio, Teilani responded. "The quicker we are on our way the better. Anyway thanks chief for the coffee and the cake, if you

ever want to talk, just drop by, I don't get many visitors here."

"Sure thing doctor. The cake is based on a recipe from my Grandmother. I hope you enjoy it." Silvio waves and left sickbay.
