=USS Zion Sickbay=

Melissa lead the JAG officer to sick bay. Noticing that the doctor was in her office Melissa left Cole in the reception area and politely interrupted her. "Excuse me Doctor Dane."

Teilani looked up, seeing Lieutenant Jarvis and a guest. "Good morning Lieutenant Jarvis, what can I do for you."

"I have a Lieutenant Cole from the JAG office here with me. He is investigating the murder suicide involving Crewman Wilson. He has asked to speak with you. Do you have a few minutes? If you are too busy, I can have him come back at another time."

"No it's is alright," said Teilani.

Melissa retrieved Cole from the reception area and into the doctor's office.

"Please have a seat Lieutenant Cole, Lieutenant Jarvis." Teilani gestured to some chairs.

Melissa waited for Cole to sit down and then she sat in the chair next to him.

"Thank you for seeing me doctor. I just have a few questions about the incident involving Crewman Wilson. This should not take long. First of all, were you able to discover anything unusual during the post mortem study on their bodies?"

“Unfortunately there was not much left of them, Sir”, Teilani explained. “So the post mortem was inconclusive.”

"I see." Cole flipped through notes on his PADD. "I understand that you were the one who reported the prisoners as spys?"

“That is correct Sir”, Teilani responded.

"Are you certain that these men were on the Kittyhawk," asked Cole.

Teilani was quiet for a moment. She had asked herself this question a 1000 times. “Yes Sir, I am very certain.”

"According to the security reports their presence in your sickbay seemed to have upset you?"

“That is also very true Sir”, Teilani responded. “I had never expected to see anybody directly related to the Kitty hawk especially those who belonged to the boarding parties.”

"Would you characterise yourself as hysterical?"

Teilani squeezed her eyes before she answered. “No Sir, far from it”.

"How well did you know Crewman Donald Wilson. The dead crewmember," asked Cole.

“On occasion I met him in the corridors or saw him in the messhal but we never actually met Sir,” Teilani responded.

"According to surveillance video Crewman Wilson escorted the prisoners to their assigned quarters and then they killed them both in cold blood while they begged with him for their lives. Did you know this?"

“Oh my god”, Teilani said with an outburst. “No sir I …… I didn’t know that. If I knew that he was going to do something to them I would never have allowed them to leave Sickbay.”

Cole ignored her, "Interestingly enough, while they were begging for their lives they said you were mistaken about them. Crewman Wilson told them your word was good enough for him. He then shot them dead." Cole placed strong emphasis on the last three words to get his point across. "Would you say that you wanted them dead doctor?"

Teilani rose from her chair and walked across the room, crossing her arms, looking at her own reflection in the window. Then she turned back to Lieutenant Cole. “No, I wanted to bring them to justice, to pay for what they had done, not pay with their lives. There are already too many lives lost……….. Sir.” She responded quiet and calmly.

"Are you sure doctor, perhaps you were not really upset when you saw them, perhaps you wanted it to get out that they were here. Maybe you even manipulated crewman Wilson into taking care of them so you, the good doctor, did not have to get your hands dirty." Cole had also stood up and was looking at the doctor.

Teilani’s eyes were shooting lightning, she was furious. “How dare you accusing me!”

Melissa was quite stunned. She did not see how the Lieutenant could make such an accusation. She watched the doctor and Cole stare each other down for a few seconds and then stood up. "Ok, that is enough." She tapped her comm badge. "Command Wright to sickbay please."

"Acknowledged," came Wright's reply.

"I am afraid I have to ask you to stop this interview and wait until the commander gets here." Melissa turned to the doctor. "Doctor, I advice you to not say anything further until the commander gets here."

Teilani nodded.

Cole looked at Melissa and said, "You are dismissed Lieutenant."

"I am sorry Sir but I will not comply. You may lodge a complaint with Commander Wright, however, my job is to protect this ship and her crew." Melissa addressed Cole in a calm but serious manner.

Wright enter sickbay and walked into the very tense situation in the doctor's office. "What is going on here?"

Melissa looked to Wright. "Sir, the Lieutenant is here conducting an investigation into the crewman Wilson case. I had thought he was going to ask routine questions but it seem he is now accusing the doctor."

Cole did not even wait for Wright to speak. "Sir, it is my belief that the doctor manipulated crewman Wilson into murdering those prisoners."

"Mister Cole, are you intending to bring charges against my Chief Medical Officer?" Wright's voice was calm but there was an icy coldness about it.

"Not at this time Sir. I will when I find the evidence to support my beliefs," said Cole.

"I see," Wright now looked Cole directly in the eyes. "Is it the practice of JAG officers to bring accusations before they have enough evidence to prove them?"

"No Sir."

"Indeed." Wright was astonished by the Lieutenants behaviour. "Mister Cole I will not tolerate your abuse of this ships crew. You are not to interview any more of my crew without myself or Captain Hunter being present."

Cole bristled, "You cannot obstruct my investigation." He turned and pointed at Melissa. "She has already disobeyed a direct order. It is a crime to obstruct a JAG investigation," Cole shouted.

Wright looked to Melissa. "Sir", she said, "I did not think it was wise to leave as ordered until you arrived."

Wright's eyes narrowed, "Are you intending to bring charges against my Security Chief?" Wrights voice was now dangerous.

"No Sir."

"I have no intention of obstructing your investigation. It seems that my crew need protection from you."

"Do you have any more questions for the doctor or anyone else," Wright asked.

"Not at this time Sir," Cole replied.

"If you need any more questions answered please let me know and I will arrange an interview. You are dismissed Lieutenant." Turning to Melissa. "Kindly escort Lieutenant Cole back to the station."

Melissa and Cole left sickbay Wright sat down in the chair that Cole had just been in and said, "Anything more you want to talk about doctor?"

"Teilani turned towards Wright. She was furious. "Am I under investigation Sir?"

"Calm down doctor." Wright began. "You are not under any official investigation that I am aware of."

"I had nothing to do with the deaths of those people. Heck I didn't even know crewman Wilson."

"Doctor, if I thought you did we would be sitting in that chair and I would not be about to give you this." Wright slid a black box emblazoned with the Maquis crest on top across the doctor's desk. " I hope this will make your day a little better. "You are hereby promoted to Lieutenant Junior grade." Wright stood up and extended his hand to the doctor. "Congratulations Lieutenant."

Teilani took the box from her desk and opened it, revealing a new black pip.

She got a big smile on her face. "I never had a bad day Sir but thank you, I never expected this", while shaking Wrights hand.

"There is no mirror here, so would you mind Sir”, she asked hesitantly. Handing the pip to commander Wright.

"Sure thing," Wright took the pip and placed it on the collar of her uniform. "There you go Doctor. Do not worry about Cole, he was out of line. I will discuss it with the captain and JAG if necessary."

"Yes Sir, appreciate that", Teilani said. "If you will excuse me Sir, I need to continue with my duties".
