"You actually listen to this garbage?" Jelly pointed out. "Geez." She winced as if it was physically hurting her multi-pierced ears. "You know I have some music I bought with me, could maybe liven up the place a little?"~~
Teilani's eyes widened a little. This had to be some sort of joke. "Well thank you for your opinion. Consider it noted." The large doctor said, dropping the PADD she'd been using into a slot by the bed and headed to the next bed to check on it's functions. "Medical isn't supposed to be lively. It's supposed to be comforting. However feel free to make your personal desk as lively as you'd like so long as it's kept to code. Including clothing, accessories and use of language. When you're on the job I expect you to be the job Nurse Goldenman."
~~She turned and looked at her desk. "What I don't get my own office? What kind of crap is that?" Jelly said with disgusted disbelief as she sat down in the chair to test it out. ~~
Teilani shrugged. "We can have one partitioned off for you, there's certainly the room for it. More than likely you'll be sharing space in mine since we'll be going over the same records if necessary.
~~"Hey listen can you tell me where I go to get a bigger room? They one they gave me is tiny." Jelly asked as she began idly playing with the scheduling computer in front of her to see what sort of work they had on the menu. ~~
"Mmmmm... I think the room sizes are standard based on their occupancy or rank. You might be able to talk someone into switching into a different lay out. But they're all the same I think until you raise in rank or switch to barrack living." Who did you talk to over these issues? It was her first ship duty, too. "There should be a reference for repairs and contact information pertaining to your rooming in the packet you were given upon arriving."
"Oh and everyone who knows what's going on calls me Jelly." Jelly said with a tone that made it clear how she felt about people who didn't know what was going on. =snip= "Oh, one more thing, I don't touch Klingons. Just so you know." Jelly said with a wave of her hand, as if making clear the CMO knew what to do. "Unless they want me to fix their ugly faces. Which I can do." Teilani just about fumbled the instrument she'd picked up and hurriedly laid it on the tale. "You don't WHAT?" The doctor rounded on the little woman, her body moving pretty quick compared to the somewhat slow stroll she'd been wandering around medical with moments before. Her green eyes flashed with threat. She could take ignorance, she could take arrogance. But Gods above prejudice was something that always sparked her off.
"You don't touch klingons? MIZZ Goldenman: you'll touch whoever comes in here needing our help and the first time you don't I'll ensure you're kicked off this starship so fast your prissy bronze butt leaves glitter skid prints. Do I make myself clear?!!”
"This is a care facility, not a popularity contest, not a fashion show and not a speak easy. You will act accordingly and perform your duties as are specified in your orders to the T. And if any of the executive or junior officers give you orders, you'll hop to those, too. Any insubordination and I'll write you up right off the bat."
Jelly hardly listened to Teilani's instructions as she looked through the schedule. =There's, like, nothing in here= She thought happily, not realizing that the schedule would become much more hectic once the ship's crew began to make new medical appointments.
Suddenly, for no reason whatsoever, the CMO was right in her face!!!
"And don't you *EVER* say that you don't treat someone again. Ever. If I even hear you utter those words we're paying a visit to the XO. Got that? If not I can put it in writing and tuck it in your personal file so you'll never ever forget." Teilani wasn't yelling, she was growling as she stood over Jelly.
"Now. If you have nothing constructive to say in response you are dismissed to go attend to your personal matters until 0600 hours tomorrow morning. I expect you here, ready to work and professional to all patients and the rest of the crew. Good day."
Jelly backed the chair up against the wall, but the crazy woman just kept coming and ranting and lecturing and....=Oh god! She's crazy!!!= Jelly thought in a panic. =I'm going to end up cut to pieces and fed to star-gophers!!!=
But finally Jelly caught something that sounded like a dismissal. The Nurse bounced out of the chair like she had a spring on her backside and got out of the room as fast as she possibly could!
"What a crazy @#$#$." Jelly said aloud as soon as the doors closed. "What the heck kind of a ship is this?" And she strode off angrily, intent on finding the captain and complaining.
