"Hey, are you Dane?" Jelly asked the taller red haired woman, completely ingoring other woman. =snip= "I'm supposed to give you this." She held out the little electronic card that explained she had been transferred here.
Teilani looked up from the final notes she was inputting and found herself holding her jaw in place for a second time in less than an hour. Perhaps it was something about the ship- that they were recruiting colourful exotic people for this particular mission- but this one the doctor couldn't even assign a natural race to by looking at her. The woman before her looked to perfect, too tailored, too wildly colourful to be anything other than a life sized glamour doll: complete with painted on clothes and perfect pouf hair. It was nearly disconcerting.
"Yes, I'm Doctor Dane.."
Before Teilani even had a chance to read it Jelly blurted out with "Who put this crap on?" And she waved her perfectly manicured green fingernails in the air to indicate the music. Teilani raised a dark red brow. Either the woman had sterling scores etched across the chit she'd just given her or she really wasn't worried about making a first impression. "That would be my music Miss.. " She glanced at the orders ".. Goldenman." Her gaze followed down the card for a moment until it reached the end of the first break. After that she decided the rest would be read in private where she could bang her head against the wall in frustration without interruptions. Those certainly weren't sterling marks... More like recesses. Big. Bold. Black Recesses. There had to be a mistake.
Either way she'd handle it. Or Miss Goldenman would handle it as the case may be. Plain old medical didn't look ritzy enough to hold the attention of the buffed and polished young woman. But if her orders didn't change she'd have to get used to it fast enough.
"Nurse Goldenman, nice to meet you. Welcome to your new workplace. I believe the desk there to the right near the entrance is your private workspace. But as I'm sure you know, the roam of medical is where you'll probably be spending most of your time." Teilani waved a large hand towards the doorway, a small jade ring was her hands' only adornment. No polish. No bracelets.
"Gloria Whiting." She said, motioning over to the other woman in the room. "If you need to know anything, she will be the one you can turn too.”
"Yeah whatever." Jelly waved off the introduction to Gloria as if it was not at all important. "You actually listen to this garbage?" Jelly pointed out. "Geez." She winced as if it was physically hurting her multi-pierced ears. "You know I have some music I bought with me, could maybe liven up the place a little?"
She turned and looked at her desk. "What I don't get my own office? What kind of crap is that?" Jelly said with disgusted disbelief as she sat down in the chair to test it out.
"Hey listen can you tell me where I go to get a bigger room? They one they gave me is tiny." Jelly asked as she began idly playing with the scheduling computer in front of her to see what sort of work they had on the menu.
"Oh and everyone who knows what's going on calls me Jelly." Jelly said with a tone that made it clear how she felt about people who didn't know what was going on.
The fact that she had just used foul language in front of an officer' and basically acted like she owned the place was nothing out of the normal for Jelly.
"Oh, one more thing, I don't touch Klingons. Just so you know." Jelly said with a wave of her hand, as if making clear the CMO knew what to do. "Unless they want me to fix their ugly faces. Which I can do." Jelly added with a tone of unmistakable arrogance. She hadn't made eye contact with her boss since her initial assessment, so she had no idea how Teilani was about to react.
