Wright was in his office on board the Zion finished up some last minute paperwork before he, like the rest of the crew would disembark. He scanned his PADD and sent his final recommendations for crew promotions and commendations to the Captain. Wright looked around his office and his eyes fell upon a worn leather case. Smiling, he got up from his desk and picked up the case.
Opening the case he reviewed the various medical tools inside. The case had been a gift from an old women he knew on Bajor. After the loss of his wife Wright had spent some time with the people of Bajor. This case brought back many fond memories. He wondered how she was doing without him.
Wright's thoughts were interrupted by the chime of his door. "Come in," he said.
The door slid open and in walked Major Madriani. "Hello Major," greeted Wright.
Madriani stepped inside and saluted the Commander. "I just wanted to say that it has been a pleasure to serve aboard your ship and to let you know I will be taking an extended leave to be with my daughter."
"Is everything ok with your daughter," asked Wright.
"Yes Sir, its just this last mission made me think about things a little more."
Wright was a bit surprised, "Well, it has been a pleasure," said Wright setting aside his case and standing up to shake his hand.
"Thank you Sir."
"I am sure the Captain will want to speak with you," said Wright.
"I have already visited with Captain Hunter"
"Very well then," said Wright, "Take care of yourself Major."
"Good bye sir," said Madriani. The Marine turned and left the room.
Wright shook his head, this day was getting strange. Wright decided that he had worked enough for the day. He turnedout the light and left to go find his new quarters on the station.
