Melissa watched from her office as Northrop left security. She was amazed at home Intel officers worked. She did not understand why they always needed to resort to threats and violence. She did not even bother taking him into a private interrogation cell. Melissa shook her head as she shut down her console and stood up. She walked into the main Security office.
"Hey Chief," said Ensign Simpson, "Did you watch the Intel lady talk to the prisoner?"
"That is Intel Officer, or Intel Chief," she said, "And yes, I was watching."
"Man, I really though she was going to rough him up," he said, "I loved the metal baton thing."
"You would," she said, "Have Carter take the prisoner to Sickbay for testing." Melissa thought about it, "When he gets back put him in room one. I want to talk to him."
Simpson smiled, "You gonna rough him up. I can put some strong bindings on him for ya."
"Ensign," said Melissa wearily, "Are you thinking about transferring to Intel or something?"
"Maybe Ma'am," he smiled, "I'll go get him for ya?" Simpson went into the detention center.
Melissa returned to her office and pulled up the data from the USS Wolverine. She scanned thought the most recent data and then looked over the crew list. Sure enough, she found a science officer listed named Birkoff. "Very interesting," she said.

Sam had quietly watched when Allyssa was busy interrogating Birkhoff. She couldn't believe it, finally they had apprehended him by some weird coincidence. If she was in charge she would immediately turn the ship around and fly to rura penthe, deliver him there and loose the key to his holding cell.
A few minutes later, Sam received orders to transport Birkoff to sickbay.
"Ok on your feet!," she said holding a phaser pointed at Birkhoff.
"Where are you taking me?" asked Birkoff.
"If it was me I would transport you to an airlock and shove you in and depressurize it, but the brass wants you to go to sickbay. NOW SHUT UP!!
"Sickbay?" Birkoff looked even more bewildered stopping.
"Turn around, hands on your back." Sam got a few restrains from a shelf. "Mike if he even twitches shoot him."
"With pleasure Lieutenant."
"And just to warn you Birkhoff, the phaser is not set to stun but to kill," Sam said as she roughly fixed the restraints.
"Computer, put a level 10 force field around corridor 2g, 3h, 23 and junction 12H. Secure a turbolift only to be used by security and have it move directly to Deck 8.
"Acknowledged." the computer responded.
" Move!! she said pushing him with a phaser in the back. "Keep moving!"
"Okay, okay..."
Having made sure he was securely restrained both Sam and Mike escorted Birkhoff from the security office directly to the secured turbolift.
Birkoff looked down at the binders. It was embarrassing. At least the corridors were empty. As they passed through each force field contained section, Carter lowered the field and raised it again as they entered the next section. Birkoff contemplated that his exoneration was inevitable.
Sam leant against the turbolift wall and looked at Birkhoff. "So," she said with a snear, "I can not wait to see your execution, I hope it will be long and painful."
Birkoff felt enraged inside. It was so unjust. He just wanted to scream.
"You are bluffing." said Birkoff coldly. "They Maquis don't execute people."
Sam snorted. "People no but criminals and killers we do execute especially after what you have done."
"I've done nothing wrong," insisted Birkoff.
"Shut up and move," Sam said as the turbolift had stopped. "No tricks or you will be sorry."
Birkoff frowned. When he was exonerated, he was going to make sure her commanding officer knew about this abuse.
*** Sickbay**
"Doctor Dane!." Sam called out.
Teilani who was in her office explaining something to a nurse stood up and walked towards them. "Yes?""
"Doctor, I have this prisoner and we need to establish his identity. So could you do some work on him? And there is no need to be gentle Ma'am." "You!!"" she exclaimed. "Finally they apprehend you." Teilani looked at Birkhoff.
"Me?" repeated Birkoff in a confused voice.
"Mike, Jackson, *help* Mr Birkhoff to a biobed." Teilani said with hate in her voice.
"Lay still," she said calmly while putting down the diagnostic displays. "Computer run a full medical analyses can compare the date with our prisoner records."
"Acknowledged."
Teilani glanced at Birkhoff. "I do hope that they put you away for life."
"Computer what is the status of the analysis?"
"It will take 7 hours and 23 minutes to finalize."
"Sorry Lieutenant," Teilani said to Carter, "I can not do it any faster."
"You mean I have to wait here for 7 hours, " said Birkoff in a whiny voice.
"I do not think so, you can wait for the results in the brig, now we have you in custody, we will not let you out of our sight."
"Doctor will you let us know once you have the information?" Sam asked Teilani.
"I will Lieutenant."
Birkoff looked disappointed as he slid off the bio bed.
As Sam led him back to the Brig, Birkoff asked her, "Did you stop to think even for a moment I might be innocent of whatever you think I did?"
Sam turned the forcefield back on and turned towards Birkhoff. "I like to believe it but after all you did to us no way!"
