Blitzer stood leaning against the Pegasus as he watched crews loading supplies and materials onto the Pegasus. Once that was done, the Pegasus would then be loaded onto the Zion. It was the first vessel of its kind.

It was not that he needed to supervise, but they had not told him anything about the mission, other than there was going to be one. He watched, trying to anticipate what they might be doing. It certainly involved inflicting massive damage. On the exterior of the Pegasus were mounted four very large torpedoes. Blitzer, who was very familiar with various weaponry was sure the ordinance didn't even have a designation, he'd never seen anything like them before. They were probably proto- types too. All they had told him that the Pegasus would be ferried by the USS Zion. He liked that notion.

Despite the pleasure he'd had flying this ship, the Pegasus was larger than his fighter being just smaller than a runabout. It was a brand-new design. It's horse-shoe shaped warp engines designed by Randi Dorton were even radically different.

His sensitive ears quirked as he heard the foot falls of his crewmate, Bart Reed.

He turned to greet him, "Burner! You are early, we don't leave for another 2 and a half hours."

Burner stopped and stood next to his friend. The truth was that he had not even gone to sleep. He had spend the night "fund raising" and was now eager to get off the station before a certain Ferengi realized he had donated to Burners charitable cause. He handed him a isolinear chip and said, "Here are the credits that I owe you and Max for bailing me out of trouble."

Blitzer looked at the chip in his paw, "Well, thanks. Max will really appreciate it."

"Don't mention it," said Burner. "I am ready to get off this station. Have we got any idea when we can load the Peg onto the Zion?"

"About 1300 hours," replied Blitzer, "they still have to finish loading supplies."

"Have you met the new guy in Engineering yet?"

Blitzer scrunched his lips together, "Hmm, I don't think I have. I guess he'll be along shortly too."

"He's probably already on board. I think he has been living there already; he never leaves."

"Is that so?"

Burner looked around a bit nervously, "Let's go join him and start our pre-flight." It suddenly occurred to him that he did not want to be standing out in the open. He would feel much better once he was hidden on the Peg.

"Yeah, alright," said Blitzer lifting his bag, "let's go."

Blitzer and Burner walked up the ramp and entered the ship, "funny RAHW never mentioned him either."

Burner shrugged. "She is a hologram. It probably never occurred to her to talk about him. Once we get situated should have a staff meting and introduce ourselves." Burner followed Blitzer.

As they walked up the ramp a shuttle technician stepped out, "You guys are here early, excellent! The Zion just notified flight control that they are ready to stow the Pegasus.

Blitzer looked at Burner and said his usual battle line, "Show time."

"After you big cat," said Burner gesturing toward the door.

Blitzer and Burner took their bags up to the flight deck and dropped them on the floor.

"Hey Rahw baby. It's show time," shouted Burner.

The familiar sight of Rahw coalesced into the shapely hologram. She stood behind the two pilots with her hands clasped behind her back. She was dressed in a regulation Maquis uniform. "Good morning, Boys," she grinned at them. "I'm glad you're here."

"It's good see see you again Rahw," said Burner. "We are moving to the Zion today. Can you run a systems check?"

"Affirmative, Burner," she nodded and began the systems check. After a few moments she announced, "All systems are operating within normal parameters."

"USS Pegasus to QulTuq Station. Requesting clearance for departure," said Burner.

"Pegasus, this is QulTuq Station. You are cleared for departure. Safe flying."

Blitzer laid his paws on the screen and input his commands. The Pegasus levitated off the deck and quickly left the confines of the hanger bay. The darkness of space enveloped them. Blitzer turned the shuttle toward the Zion which came into view several kilometers away.

"USS Zion," called Burner, "this is USS Pegasus. Requesting docking instructions."

"You are clear to docking in shuttle bay one Pegasus."

"Thanks Zion," said Burner.
